Makin' Moves Takeover

We’re tucked away, if you know you know - the late-night pub in East London, bang in the middle of Brick Lane.

Every Friday, we invite live performances to the stage with a DJ to keep you dancing.

Girls night, date night or just one of those Friday night nights, come shake a leg.

Friday 18th September sees the Makin’ Moves crew move back east following their epic party at the Notting Hill Carnival closing down this years Notting Hill Carnival!

This will be the first Makin’ Moves live session event where headlining some of the amazing UK artists on their label and give them the spotlight to shine as well some great dj sets aswell from the boys Matt and Jamesey!

We’re very lucky to have four amazing singers Mychelle, Laville, ShezAr and Anna-Marie Johnson plus a 4 piece band for this gig, flipping some of Makin Moves house music styles to live.. All these tracks will dropping on an exclusive vinyl release on Makin’ Moves Records at the end of October!

We've only gone and launched a seriously good quiz night, folks! The Brick Lane Quiz Show is not your average pub quiz. Expect a fast-paced night packed full of pop culture, interactive games, big laughs and plenty of surprises with your host, comedian and impressionist Tommy Moore.

Whether you’re a quiz fanatic or just in it for the lols, rally your crew and see if you’ve got what it takes to be crowned Brick Lane Quiz Show champs, complete with a tasty bar tab.

The new weekly Saturday night party at Ninety One; Sounds Like London celebrates the past, present and future sounds of the city’s musical landscape. Covering genres celebrated in the city; expect UKG and jazz, bass and grime, jungle and UK Funky.

Set in a space with two chapters behind it - Vibe bar ran between 1993-2014 and 91 Living Room followed between 2018-2025. We’re opening the doors to a new start here at Ninety One.

This Sunday, we welcome the In Time jam crew, hosted by Joseph Marlow. After establishing a place in the London Jazz scene with their weekly In Time Jam at the Ritzy, they have sold out multiple shows at venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The Jazz Cafe and Pizza Express.

We’re Bea & Alyssa - two music lovers who are always singing and catching a vibe behind the bar, so we thought, why not have a karaoke night where everyone can do the same?

Audrey Powne

UK-based, Melbourne born artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Audrey Powne is a creative force carving out a distinctive path in the future jazz and soul world. Having honed her craft in the vibrant Melbourne music scene, Powne can now be found performing in some of the most visionary musical circles globally and where she is known equally for her extraordinary technical skills as both a trumpeter and vocalist, her creative inventiveness, and for being unafraid of pushing the boundaries while simultaneously keeping musical traditions alive.

In 2023 Powne signed to legendary UK Jazz/Soul label BBE (Barely Breaking Even) to release her debut album From the Fire. In addition to songwriting and playing trumpet, vocals and keys, Powne also composed, arranged the strings and produced the album. This approach allowed the multi-hyphenate to take full creative control, applying techniques developed from working with producers on earlier projects allowing her to achieve her unique sound.

In 2026 Powne will release her second LP “Bodies of Water” on BBE records. Join us for the premiere of this incredible new body of work from one of the most intriguing artists on the scene today.

A new weekly Saturday night at Ninety One on Brick Lane; Sounds Like London showcases a variety of sounds that make London what it is.

SIPPIN' T > came up in 2016 with the BBZ Collective which covered the club circuit in London celebrating Black Queer excellence; playing the biggest clubs and curating events in our local institutions. Expect an educational one!

Osquello > one of the premium vocalists you hear across Brighter Days releases, a north London born and newly found DJ, Osquello comes with a selection of broken beat, uk funky and more.

Lily London > the programmer for Sounds Like London and a true digger across releases from London's circuit from the 90s. Expect throwbacks and unearthed gems.

Gracey > Quendresa's DJ for a reason! Gracey celebrates R&B in all her selections, with a deep understanding of broken beat, house and garage.
