Happy New Year! This time of year many spend it reflecting on the past, and making plans for the future. So while we have your attention we want to tell you that 2016 will be a big year. Not only will many interesting smaller events be happening but you’ll be able to see the return of some of our favourite events such as: Jacket Required, The London Coffee Festival, the Free Range Season, Photoblock, Artblock and many others. But keep your eyes peeled and weekends free for the new and exciting things we’ll have on: Meet the Manufacturer and the Most Curious Wedding Fair are just some of the highlights. David Barber's Twenty Seven Palms makes funky Retro cushion covers featuring Frida Kahlo images, Mexican Day of the Dead prints and various other gay fabrics. Their range is made from a wide selection of carefully sourced fabrics from all over the world. They pride themselves on meticulously collected camp and kitsch fabrics for their collections inspired by: gay, Mexican and tropical themes as well as unusual retro styles of cushion covers. If you need something little to boost your morale this winter some funky cushions will surely bring a smile to your face.

H&M will be reopening their Shop 8 doors on the 7th of January to help us boost our early 2016 health craze. This pop-up will be filled with fitness related goodies and clothes which combine contemporary sport trends with fun, urban fashion. ROUGH TRADE EAST // 11TH JANUARY //
Hinds will be releasing their greatly anticipated album; "Leave Me Alone" on the 8th January via Lucky Number and just a couple of days later they'll be joining us at Rough Trade. The twelve perfectly imperfect and charmingly lo-fi tracks are inspired by current American garage rockers including the likes of Mac DeMarco, Ty Segall and The Black Lips. "Leave Me Alone" is a thrilling introduction to the quartet pioneering the indie music scene in Madrid.

Fat Buddha Yoga will be on site this month to help us get back into the work out mentality with a slightly more modern approach. Their mission is to change the stigma around Yoga by providing an accessible and fun take for all levels ranging from Yoga virgins, rookies to pros. No two classes are ever the same because each session is matched to the ability and energy of the people in the room! Music is definitely a huge part of the Fat Buddha Yoga experience and they make sure to tailor make mixes to suit every class. Every session will leave you feeling stronger, more supple with a heap load of zen!

Pizza Purist has been hanging out in our Yard since summer, giving us the opportunity to try all the different toppings. The "pizzaiolo" Alberto makes the pizza for you on the spot with all the best ingredients out there. They even had their oven shipped over from Italy! With a stone oven, sourdough and the freshest mozzarella, if you hang around for too long you’ll end up buying seconds. All kidding aside, a thin crust authentic pizza doesn’t count as a "cheat day" meal, right? Nothing really stops a pizza craving like the real deal. Follow @Pizza_Purist online for opening times.

Jen-Jen's Cupcakery is based in Mill Hill, North West London but on a weekly basis they venture out to our stomping grounds to grace our taste buds with some flavour. Jen's goal is to evoke all of the senses; sight, taste, touch, smell and sound. The cakes will take you back to a place of comfort, warmth and familiarity; like one of Grandma's hugs. All types of cakes are their speciality, if you’re looking for a little bit of indulgence or something for a special occasion they're exactly what you're looking for.

One of our traders Begonia Belmonte is very passionate about great food and using quality ingredients her stall "Planet Falafel" serves delicious falafel wraps as well as various salads. The history of falafel goes back to the days of the pharaohs, but over the years this vegetarian food has become a combination of several Middle Eastern cultures. Traditionally it has been eaten as an appetizer, snack or served in the familiar pita sandwich. If you're looking for something light, this vegetarian/vegan stall will do the trick.

The 22nd of January will bring Jupiter Way to 93 Feet East. The band started as an independent act with the release of an E.P "Catch Fire" this past October. Jupiter Way's blues rock sound is inspired by Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Band, as well as Motown/Stax artists.

If by the end of the month you're ready to party, Café 1001 will be hosting AMPLIFY a crazy underground House and Techno movement that tries to "amplify" the party-goer's experiences. They're taking London by storm with high end professional sound systems, mesmerizing screen visuals and a team of highly experienced DJs. The Amplify team know that the music comes first, no matter what. Everyone in attendance has a burning passion for this kind of electronic medley of sounds. It is not one to miss!

WHAT YOU MISSED // FRESH LACES AND SPRAYGROUND POP-UP //

This past month brought loads of brands to our streets but one of the most memorable was definitely the collaboration of Fresh Laces and Sprayground in Shop 7. The crazy creative brands filled the store with their goodies just in time for Christmas. Not only did they display some of their most unique designs but selection of limited edition duffle bags, backpacks and various UK fashion and accessories brands were featured in the space. A number of rare and exclusive sneakers were a highlight of the 10 day long pop-up. Don't forget to stay in touch so you don’t miss anything in 2016!
